Idris first became interested in computing, technology and energy efficiency whilst studying economics and working as assistant programmer at ANU, culminating in a PhD. dissertation on technology and investment strategies of multinationals. A combined computing, economics and statistics background gives Idris an ideal grounding to approach energy efficiency from both a practical, policy and business case basis. Idris started work with a focus in ICT energy efficiency standards and policy at the energy efficiency branch of the Australian environment department in 2007, and has been involved in a broad range of projects since. His research interests include a number of  applied areas of Information Communications Technology (ICT)   including ICT energy efficiency (EE) and sustainability benchmarking, development of EE standards and regulation. He also writes on ICT for development topics particularly on the implementation of online/e-government, e-advocacy and ICT diffusion programs both in emerging and developed economies. He works as an advisor for a number of sustainability and ICT related organisations and is actively engaged with peak industry and professional bodies in Australia, Indonesia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Indira finished her Ph.D in School of Botany, The University of Melbourne in 2008.  She is interested in plant cell wall and her Ph.D research was about isolation of Rhamnogalacturonan II (RG II) from orange peel and immunolocation with monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) of cell wall polysaccharides during development of oranges. She received Ethal McLennan Award from School of Botany in 2004 for her academic achievement and Melbourne Abroad Travelling Scholarship (MATS) from The University of Melbourne in 2005 to present her work in IFT Annual Meeting, New Orleans and University of Georgia, US.  She was involved in Bioenergy Project, a collaboration work between Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) and Technische Universiteit, Eindhoven, The Netherland (TU/e) from 2009-2011 to conduct researches in bioethanol from agricultural waste. Her passion of teaching and research topics includes postharvest technology and recently she presented her research in biopolymer in Sout heast Asia Symposium on Quality Management in Postharvest System, Laos, 2013. Her recent publication was on albedo cell wall and published in Journal of Carbohydrate Research, Elsevier,
